Events at DC Church

DC Church loves and supports our military personal serving locally and around the world. May is National Military Appreciation Month and are launching our "Military Support Ministry." The first stage of this will be collecting items for care packages to send to our deployed service members. A table will be available beginning May 17 in the foyer at the Deep Creek Campus where you can pick up a list of items being collected, drop off items, and notify the ministry team of the names and addresses of those in our community who are currently deployed.

The mission of Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater is to save lives, spare hearts and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing compassionate guidance, care, and support to moms and dads so they can choose LIFE with confidence. Without the funds raised through the Walk for LIFE, CPC couldn't take calls from or make appointments for women in crisis; show them their baby's heartbeat on an ultrasound; offer them parenting classes or diapers; or share the Gospel with them.

Sign up to raise funds and walk at one of the three scheduled Walk for Life events or support one of our church's fund-raisers. There is also an option to raise funds virtually if you are not able to participate in one of the walks. DC Church will be walking on May 2 at the zoo, however, you may walk at any event that fits your schedule. Register to walk or support a fundraiser! Registration opens April 4th for Vacation Bible School 2026! VBS at the Deep Creek Campus will take place June 22 - 26 from 9am - Noon. The theme of this year's VBS is "Illumination Station." At Illumination Station VBS, kids will be challenged to answer Jesus' important question to His disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" As they explore all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals, kids will discover that Jesus is the light who brings hope to a dark world. Jesus spoke to them again: "I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Deep Creek: June 22-26 from 9am-Noon
West Portsmouth: July 27-31 from 9am-Noon

Everyone serving at this year's VBS, "Illumination Station," is invited to join us on Saturday, May 9 from 9am - 11am for our annual VBS volunteer training. This training is for leaders serving serving at Deep Creek, West Portsmouth, or both. Curriculum will be distributed and there will be an opportunity to purchase VBS T-shirts. A light breakfast will be served. Training will take place at the Deep Creek Campus.

Joyful Sound, the Senior Adult Choir, is looking for new members who will join us in singing hymns each Wednesday morning. The requirements are to have a love for these old hymns and a willingness to share this love with others. We meet in the Concourse room each week at 11:00am at the Deep Creek Campus except for the third Wednesday of the month when we share our hymns with the residents of Cedar Manor at 10:30am. We would love to have all who love the traditional hymns to join us as we sing, fellowship and serve together.

Students from both DC Church locations will gather together for Connect Nights in the gym at the Deep Creek Campus Sunday evenings from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The night consists of food, games, worship lead by our student band, a relevant message, and small groups. Connect Nights provide an environment for students to be themselves and connect with God and other students. These are great opportunities for students who want to grow deeper in their faith, as well as those who are looking to begin a relationship with Jesus.

Calling all moms of children of all ages- infants, preschoolers, and school age kids! DC Church's MomCo group is accepting registrations. MomCo is a Mom Community, that meets at the Deep Creek Campus. starting in September, meetings are held on the first and third Thursday mornings of every month from 9:30 to 11:30am. Child care is provided. You'll enjoy fellowship, devotionals, crafts, monthly playdates, Mom's Night Outs, and so much more! But if you join NOW, you can enjoy Summer Play Dates too.
